Team Tidebound: The Unexpected Titans of PGL Wallachia Season 3

Team Tidebound strong performance in PGL Wallachia Season 3 so far may be the start of a resurgence for Chinese Dota 2.
Team Tidebound is a relatively new Chinese Dota 2 team, having formed in early January this year. Despite its recent inception, the team has already achieved significant success, qualifying for multiple major tournaments and showing strong in the ongoing Group Stage of PGL Wallachia Season 3, the team’s first tournament.
Team Tidebound are among the eight teams qualified for PGL Wallachia Season 3’s Playoffs, joining powerhouses like Team Spirit and Team Liquid. The Chinese squad finished the Group Stage with a 3-1 record, notably defeating Team Falcons in round four to lock in their spot in the Playoffs.
This unexpected performance has drawn a lot of attention to the team, so who exactly are Team Tidebound?
Team Tidebound Dota 2 roster
- Xuanang “Shiro” Guo
- Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang
- Zhang “Bach” Ruida (aka Faith_bian)
- Hao “plAnet” Lin
- Yiping “y`” Zhang
- Zhou “bLink” Yang – Coach
Team Tidebound is an all-star Chinese team composed of legendary players from the region. The roster features Bach (also known as Faith_bian) and y’, a powerful duo who won The International (TI) in 2016 with Wings Gaming.
Joining them is NothingToSay, one of the world’s top mid laners, who achieved a runner-up placement at TI 2021. He also claimed another podium placement at TI 2023, a feat he had achieved with his current teammates, Shiro and planet.
Most of the players have played together, one way or another, making it no surprise that Team Tidebound has shown solid chemistry at its first major event. On top of that, the already powerful roster is also coached by bLink, another decorated Dota 2 veteran who won TI6 with Wings Gaming alongside Bach and y’.
Team Tidebound future tournaments
In the first quarter of 2025, they qualified for three major tournaments via the Chinese qualifiers. These tournaments are PGL Wallachia Season 3, FISSURE Universe Episode 4, and PGL Wallachia Season 4.
In a surprising twist, they will also compete in ESL One Raleigh 2025 despite losing in its qualifiers against Xtreme Gaming. This switch-up follows Xtreme Gaming’s recent roster change, which cost the team their slot in the North American event.
