BLAST Slam continues to build its presence in the Dota 2 scene with the highly-anticipated second edition of its BLAST Slam series, BLAST Slam II, set to commence on February 3. With excitement building, BLAST has revealed all 10 directly-invited participants for the tournament.

BLAST Slam II Teams

Unlike most tier-one Dota 2 events, there has no qualifiers and is exclusively passing out direct invites. The 10 teams invited represent a mix of top-tier teams from across the globe.  The roster of invited teams includes:

  • PARIVISION
  • BetBoom Team
  • Team Falcons
  • Team Liquid
  • Tundra Esports
  • Gaimin Gladiators 
  • Nigma Galaxy
  • Xtreme Gaming
  • Yakult’s Brothers
  • Talon Esports

Tournament Details

Among the many tournaments set to happen this season, it stands out with its unique, high-pressure format. The competition will feature two Group Stages, during which four teams will face elimination. The remaining six will then advance to a single-elimination Playoff bracket, where every game is do-or-die.

The event will take place from February 3 to 9, in a LAN setting at the BLAST Studio in Copenhagen, Denmark. A substantial $1 million prize pool will be up for grabs, with $250,000 of that awarded as team earnings. The remaining $750,000 will then be fought over by the teams, with the champion set to walk away with the lion’s share of $300,000. 

Format:

  • Group Stage:
    • Two groups of five teams each.  
    • Round-robin format within each group.  
    • All matches are best-of-one (BO1).  
    • Teams are seeded for the playoffs based on their group stage performance.  
  • Playoffs:
    • Single-elimination bracket.  
    • Most matches are best-of-three (BO3).  
    • The Grand Final is best-of-five (BO5).  

Prize Pool: $1,000,000 USD

Dota 2 BLAST Slam II is just one of several exciting tier-one tournaments marking the start of the 2025 competitive Dota 2 season. The action begins with FISSURE Playground #1 on January 24, followed by Dota 2 BLAST Slam II.
